This article explains how to install the Topaz Signature Pad and configure settings to work with CrossLink 1040TaxProAlliance.

Note

** Before beginning installation, please ensure the device is unplugged before proceeding **

  1. Browse to the program website at http://www.taxproalliance.com.

  2. Click Affiliate Login.

  3. Enter the Username and Password then click Login.

  4. Navigate to the right under Tax Software click Download Desktop Software.

  5. Scroll down and find under Drivers Topaz Signature Pad Drivers.

  6. If prompted, click Save to save the file. Once the file has finished downloading open the file.

  7. Locate the file Topaz_Drivers.zip and right click Extract all…, check the Show extracted files when complete checkbox, and then click Extract. A window will pop up showing the extracted files once complete.

  1. Double click "sigplus.exe" to begin installation wizard. If a Security Warning window appears, click Run.

  2. From the Welcome screen, click Next.

  3. From the Read Me File screen, click Next.

  4. From the Choose Destination Location screen, we can choose a specific installation path or agree to the default Windows folder, click Next.

  5. Locate the Topaz device model information, located on the bottom of the device (starts with MODEL).

  6. Select the Tablet Model Group associated with the first two characters of the device's model information.

  7. Select the Tablet Model from the list. This can be a variety of options depending on the Tablet Model Group selected.

  8. Select the Connection Type (normally USB connection).

  9. Agree to the License Agreement by clicking the Agree button.

  10. Click OK when prompted to place the Demo Ocx.exe shortcut on your desktop.

  1. Now, plug in the Topaz device into the computer.

  2. In CrossLink 1040, navigate to Setup → Printer Setup.

  3. Under Signature Pad Selection, select Topaz Pad and click OK.

  4. Click Setup again and click on Login Accounts.

  5. Edit your login account by clicking the Edit button or double-clicking your login.

  6. Under Signature Pad Type, select Topaz Pad from the dropdown.

  7. After properly configuring the Printer Setup and Login Accounts for Topaz Pad please verify the pad was successfully configured by going to Database → EF Originators → Edit any ERO → Capture Signature.

Topaz pad successfully installed and configured, please be mindful this will need to be reconfigured in new/future installations of CrossLink.
