1040 - Capturing the ERO and Paid Preparer's Signatures

This article describes how to capture the ERO and Paid preparer’s signatures. The signatures can be captured beforehand and saved in the database or captured on a return by return basis.

The ERO and paid preparers are required to sign all documents. For this reason, we strongly recommend you capture your signatures in the system databases, so you only need to go through the signing process once. If you do not have the signatures stored in the system databases, the program will ask for the ERO and Paid Preparer signatures every time you request signatures from the taxpayer.
