1040 - Adding a State Return

This article demonstrates how to add a state tax return to an existing tax return.

 

Follow the instructions below to successfully add a State Return:

  1. If you haven't done so already, apply the state software update you want to add to the return (see Installing State Packages).

  2. Open the tax return.

  3. Click Add Form or CTRL+S on your keyboard.

  4. On the States tab, click the state you want to add in the Available States list.

  5. Double-click the state main form you want to add to the tax return.
