1040 - Auto Generate Taxpayer and Spouse's PIN on 8879

This article demonstrates how to setup CrossLink 1040 to automatically generate the taxpayer and spouse's PIN on Form 8879.

 

Follow the instructions below to successfully setup CrossLink 1040 to automatically complete the PIN information:

  1. Log in to CrossLink 1040 with Admin Rights.

  2. Click Setup > Office Setup.

  3. Select the Electronic E-Filing tab.

  4. Put a check in the Generate Taxpayer/Spouse PIN (Auto Generate PINs for Software 2019 and below) check box.

  5. Click OK.

CrossLink 1040 will now automatically generate the pin for the taxpayer and spouse.
