Rule Text: Primary taxpayer's Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) must match the e-File database. Please double check your entry and resubmit your return with the correct number.

Possible Cause 1: The wrong IP Pin was entered for the taxpayer.
Resolution: Correct the IP pin, resign, and resubmit.
If the taxpayer cannot obtain their correct IP Pin the return will need to be paper filed.
Possible Cause 2: The taxpayer's information is entered incorrectly and the IRS system thinks it is a different person (double-check the SSN, name, and birthday).
Resolution: Correct the taxpayer’s information, resign, and resubmit.
