1040 - Use SSN or EIN for File Name When Saving Returns to .PDF
By default, the software will use the Last Name (1040)/Business Name (Corp) when saving a PDF copy of the return. This article will guide you on how to set up the software to use the primary SSN or business EIN as the default file name.
Follow the instructions to successfully setup CrossLink 1040 to save .pdfs with the primary SSN/EIN:
1. Click Setup > Printer Setup.
2. Click Print Options.
3. Select Use SSN/EIN for file name.
4. Click OK.
When you print the document to .pdf, the program will specify the taxpayer's SSN or the business EIN as the default file name for .pdf files.
