This article provides an overview of how to complete Form 1099-G.


About Form 1099-G

  • Taxpayers should receive Form 1099-G if they received any of the following items:

    • Unemployment compensation

    • State or local income tax refunds, credits, or offsets

    • Reemployment trade adjustment assistance payments

    • Taxable grants

    • Agricultural payment


Completing Form 1099-G

  1. Select Add Form.

  2. Locate and highlight Form 1099-G in the All Forms & Schedules Menu. Double-click to add.

  3. If a joint return, choose New Taxpayer's or New Spouse's Occurrence.

     

  4. Complete the 1099-G, filling in all applicable sections. Pay close attention to the state information.
