About Form 1098

  • Taxpayers should receive Form 1098 Mortgage Interest if they paid more than $600 worth of mortgage interest during the tax period.


Completing Form 1098

  1. Select Add Form.

  2. Locate and highlight Form 1098 in the All Forms & Schedules Menu. Double-click to add.

  3. Complete the 1098, filling in all applicable sections. 

    1. Be sure to enter real estate taxes in box 10 (if applicable) even if the taxpayer is not itemizing at the federal level, this could still help their individual state return.
