Rule Text: The Spouse Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) must match the e-File database. Please double-check your entry and resubmit your return with the correct number.
In order to correct the error, reference the DataValue (this indicates what person or number the rejection is related to).
Possible Causes:
The wrong IP Pin was entered for the spouse.
The spouse's information is entered incorrectly and the IRS system thinks it is a different person (double-check the SSN, name, and birthday).
Possible Resolutions:
Enter the spouse's correct IP Pin on the tax return.
IP Pin's are issued each year between December and January.
IP Pin's are used for all returns filed in a calendar year.
If the spouse can not obtain their correct IP Pin then their return must be paper filed.
Correct the spouse information if entered incorrectly.
